Stok Kangri summit Trek is classified as trekking summit. Being a serious trekker, Stok Kangri can offer you the thrill of beginners level of mountaineering and an altitude exposure beyond 6000m. Incase of any climb, acclamatization is the key of success. After 2 initial days at leh, enrouting Matho la Or Stok La can offer you the prefect slow but steady acclamatization required for mountaineering or High altitude trekking. Keep safety first and approch in a small group to increase your summit chance.

Stok Kangri Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Day: Arrival at Leh and rest day. At evening briefing of the itinerary. Stay at Leh.
Day 02: Acclimatization Day: Visit Khardugn La pass world highest motorable road.  Post lunch acclimatization walks to Leh Palace /Shanti stupa. Stay at Leh.
Day 03: Drive to Matho & trek to Matho gorge(3700m) (02-03 hrs treks).
Day 04: Matho gorge – Gangpoche.(05-06 hrs) 4100m.
Day 05: Gangpoche – Mankarmo/ Mid camp (4450m) via Matho-la(4950m) (05-06hrs) .
Day 06: Monkormo/ Mid-camp to Stok Kangri Base Camp, trek 3 km, 2 hours. Stay at BC campsite,5050m.
Day 07: Orientation Day -Training & orientation day, know about gears to use and safety. Trek to the glacier and back
Day 08: SummitDay -Let’s march to the summit, start at midnight to reach before sunrise.14 km, 11 – 13 hours. Stok Kangri summit is at 6153m.
Day 09: Return to Base Camp by afternoon and rest at Base. Base Camp (5050m ) to Stok Village ( 3650m ) to Leh ( 3500 m ), 11 Kms, 5-6 hours.

Day 10: Base Camp (5050m ) to Stok Village ( 3650m ) to Leh ( 3500 m ), 11 Kms, 5-6 hours.
Day 11: Departure Day- Say goodbye to Leh. Start for your next destination.

How To Reach Leh

Flight

Flights are there from Delhi,Simla and Srinagar To Kushok Bakula Rimpoche Airport in Leh. Flight tickets can be cheap if booked well in advance.

Road

You can approach Leh either from Delhi, via Manali, Himachal Pradesh,1028Km. Or else you can reach from Srinagar via Kargil, Jammu & Kashmir, 812 Km.

Train

Delhi is the last Railway Station if you plan to come via Manali. Otherway Jammu, Katra, (KEA), Jammu Tawi ( JAT) are the available options from Srinagar side.

Fees Include:

  • Climbing guide to Climber ratio – 1:6
  • Stay at Leh on 2 sharing basis in delux accomodation.
  • Stay at campsite on 2 sharing basis in tent
  • Breakfast, snacks, and Dinner at the campsite and packed lunch during activities. Veg/Non-Veg as per preference.
  • Climbing and Forest Fees based on your Nationality.Foreign nationals need to pay an extra amount of 4000 INR for additional permit fees.
  • Sleeping bag, mat, crampon, ice-ax, helmet, rope, harness, carabiners.All gears with pro-quality standards.
  • Transportation – Pickup and drop on arrival and departure of Leh, trek start and end point by car.

Exclusions:

  • Lunch at Leh.
  • Newly propose environmental fees if applicable
  • Off-Loading of backpack up to 20kg is 800 INR per day
  • Keeping in mind the altitude of Leh, book an additional acclimatization day at Leh with the cost of 2000 INR, stay + breakfast.
  • Any other personal equipment or gear.
  • Any charges for a camera, if included.
  • Any insurance.
  • Anything is not mentioned in above inclusions.

Cancellation:

  • Cancellation prior to 30 days from the start of the event– full refund.
  • Cancellation between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the event– 50% refund.
  • Cancellation less than 15 days to the start of the event– No refund, but if you want to do the same or any other itinerary sometime later within a year, you can avail 50% of the cost paid as a discount on new Itinerary Fee.
  • There will be a deduction of 3.09% as bank processing charges on all refunds.

    • Enrolled participants good to have prior Himalayan trek experiences to deal with 600m+ exposure and long walk on summit day into the thin air.
    • Better acclimatization can keep you ahead to enjoy the trek. It’s really important to get used to the thin air of Ladakh.
    • To get prepared, involve into brisk jogging, cycling, walking or any other sort of cardiac exercise routine at least 45 days prior to the event.
    • Enrolled participants need to submit a duly filled medical report of basic wellness authorized by certified physician.
