Climb Gulep Kangri & Stok Kangri twin peak, Gulep Kangri is situated in Zanskar range of Ladakh. It is the lower of the two but throws more challenges. On a clear day Karakoram range, even K2 is visible from the summit of Gulep Kangri.Gulep Kangri lies beyond a 5200 m saddle from Stok Kangri.

Gulep Kangri & Stok Kangri twin peak itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Leh. (3,500m). Acclimatization Day.
Day 02: Explore around Leh
Day 03: Start early morning drive from Leh to Zingchen around 25km. Start trekking from Zingchen to Rumbak (6-5) hours. Camp site at 4050m.
Day 04: Rumbak to Mankorma, via Stok La ( 4900m), trek 5-6 hours. Camp at Mankorma 4400m.
Day 05: Monkormo to Stok Kangri Base Camp , trek 3 kms, 2 hours. Stay at BC camp site,5050m.
Day 06: Training & orientation day, know about gears to use and safety.
Day 07: Lets march to summit, start at midnight to reach before sunrise.Gulep Kangri summit is at 5950 m. Return and camp at base again.
Day 08: Rest Day.
Day 09: Lets march to summit, start at midnight to reach before sunrise.Stok Kangri summit is at 6010m.
Day 10: Reserve Day.
Day 11: Base Camp (5050m ) to Stok Village ( 3650m ) to Leh ( 3500 m ), 11 Kms, 5-6 hours.
Day 12: Say good bye to Leh. Start for your next destination.

How To Reach Leh

Flight

Flights are there from Delhi,Simla and Srinagar To Kushok Bakula Rimpoche Airport in Leh. Flight tickets can be cheap if booked well in advance.

Road

You can approach Leh either from Delhi, via Manali, Himachal Pradesh,1028Km. Or else you can reach from Srinagar via Kargil, Jammu & Kashmir, 812 Km.

Train

Delhi is the last Railway Station if you plan to come via Manali. Otherway Jammu, Katra, (KEA), Jammu Tawi ( JAT) are the available options from Srinagar side.

Fees Include:

  • Climbing guide to climber ratio 1:5 max.
  • Stay at Leh on 2-3 sharing basis in Guest House or Home stay.
  • Stay at campsite on 2-3 sharing basis in tent
  • Breakfast and Dinner at the campsite and packed lunch during activities. Veg/Non-Veg as per preference.
  • Forest Fees based on your Nationality.
  • Off Loading of backpack up to 10kg per head.
  • Sleeping bag, mat, crampon, ice-axe, helmate, rope.All gears with pro quality standards.
  • Transportation – Pickup and drop on arrival and departure of Leh, trek start and end point by car.

Exclusions:

  • IMF climbing permit/ peak fees.
  • Food at Leh.
  • Newly propose environmental fees if applicable
  • Keeping in mind the altitude of Leh, book an additional acclimatization day at Leh with the cost of 1200 INR, stay + breakfast.
  • Any other personal equipment or gear.
  • Any charges for camera, if included.
  • Any insurance.
  • Anything is not mentioned into above inclusions.

Cancellation:

  • Cancellation prior to 30 days from the start of the event– full refund.
  • Cancellation between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the event– 50% refund.
  • Cancellation less than 15 days to the start of the event– No refund, but if you want to do the same or any other itinerary sometime later within a year, you can avail 50% of the cost paid as a discount on new Itinerary Fee.
  • There will be a deduction of 3.09% as bank processing charges on all refunds.

    • Enrolled participants good to have prior Himalayan trek experiences to deal with 600m+ exposure and long walk on summit day into the thin air. For Kang yatse 1, climber must have basic mountaineering certification.
    • Better acclimatization can keep you ahead to enjoy the trek. It’s really important to get used to the thin air of Ladakh.
    • To get prepared, involve into brisk jogging, cycling, walking or any other sort of cardiac exercise routine at least 45 days prior to the event.
    • Enrolled participants need to submit a duly filled medical report of basic wellness authorized by certified physician.
