Rupin Pass Trek
Rupin Pass Trek is the most beautiful high altitude trek in the Himalayas, where the scenery changes with every turn starting from Dhaula a picturesque village in Uttarakhand to the widespread Sangla valley, Himachal Pradesh. The trail through the traditional villages of Sewa, famous for Shiva temple and Jhaka, the hanging village, is typically rich in wildflowers, especially magnificent Brahmakamal may decorate it. Experience lush green meadows at a lower elevation as well as steep ice fields on higher altitude.
Day 1: Arrival Day: Start from DehraDun to Dhaula (1550 m) early in the morning (180 Km / 8 hours ). Overnight stay at Eco camp or Homestay. Day 2: Trekking Day: Trek from Dhaula to Sewa ( 2000 m / 7 Km /6 hours ) Day 3: Trekking Day: Trek from Sewa to Jiskun ( 2350 m / 5 hours ) Day 4: Trekking Day: Trek from Jiskun to Saruwas Thatch (3110 m / 5-6 hours) Day 5: Trekking Day: Trek from Saruwas Thatch to Lower waterfall camp (also known as Dhanderas Thach) ( 3570 m / 6-7 hours ) Day 6: Trekking Day: Trek from lower waterfall camp / Dhanderas Thach to Upper waterfall ( 3960 m /3 Km/ 3 hours ) Day 7: Trekking Day: Trek from Upper waterfall to Rontigad ( 3960 m ) across the Rupin Pass ( 4572 m ) ( 11 hours) Day 8: Trekking Day: Trek from Rontigad to Sangla ( 2600 m ) via Sangla Kanda ( 6 hours ). You can proceed for Shimla (225 Km / 8 hours) or you can stay at Sangla at an extra cost and proceed for Shimla the next morning.

Jolly Grant Airport is the airport serving Dehradun, located about 48 km from the Haridwar and 20.5 km from Dehradun town. There is a daily flight from Delhi for Dehradun, reach Dehradun one day early if you are coming by flight. Dhaula is 10 – 11 hours drive from Dehradun (197 Km). There are frequent Public Transport buses including AC Volvos available from Delhi to Dehradun that cost about Rs. 200-700 per person. These buses depart from Delhi ISBT every 30 mins. or so and take about 7-8 hrs to cover the distance. There are 2 buses leave early morning for Sankri. Heading to Sankri one can take down at Naitwar and hire a cab for Dhaula which may cost Rs.800-1000 and may take around 30 mins. The distance of Naitwar from Dehradun is 175 Km and from Naitwar, Dhaula is 11 Km away. A private vehicle can be managed on request. Delhi is the closest and most suitable point to catch a train for Dehradun. Then Dhaula is 10 – 11 hours drive from Dehradun (197 Km). Else there are 2 buses leave early morning for Sankri. Heading to Sankri one can take down at Naitwar and hire a cab for Dhaula which may cost Rs.800-1000 and may take around 30 mins. The distance of Naitwar from Dehradun is 175 Km and from Naitwar, Dhaula is 11 Km away. A private vehicle can be managed on request.
